[ Yang has so many questions right there. Interspersed with the more pressing ones ("What just happened?" "Did she just do that or did I just do that?") were unimportant, conflicting thoughts ("That felt really good." "Does she use chapstick, or was that just ...?")

—everything comes to a neck-twisting, screeching halt when she notices Weiss's own demeanor take a turn for the embarrassed. Yang doesn't go flush often, or easily, but even she's feeling a different kind of heat flooding her face just then. And it's tying up her tongue, to boot. ]

Um. Wait. Weiss, I — I mean, I can explain? [ She is 0% sure that she can explain anything of the last like half a minute. Or was it longer? Oh god hopefully it wasn't longer that would be even MORE to explain which she would have LESS confidence in doing.

Yang's also reaching out toward Weiss but doesn't actually move to get between her and the door. ]

[Weiss has a few of those same questions ("What did I just do?", "What came over me?", and "Why did I stop myself that last time?" to name a few) herself, the embarrassment is drowning them out.

Yang will manage to catch her hand, and that makes her stop and turn around.]

I don't know what there is to explain, it's not like we normally have discussions that turn into kissing. I don't even know what - I mean, it's not like it was a bad thing, but -

[She laughs nervously.]

[ —oh, she caught her? Great!

Not great.

Yang had no plan for what to do or so when that happened so, for the moment, she just sort of holds Weiss's hand tightly and averts her gaze entirely. Hey, the ceilings in this room aren't half bad...? ]

Nnnno, not ever. There's. A lot of other things that go on. But not. That.

[ God her palms feel sweaty and gross. Was that Weiss's doing, or her own? She can't tell but she ends up pulling it back anyway to wipe it against her side, off on her sleeping shirt, but instead just ends up sort of... holding it against herself.

You know it would be really great if her heart could stop hammering away in her ears right about now. Yang hasn't felt any true surge of anything resembling an adrenaline high since her arrival here, save for the initial fear of where she ended up, and the occasional enthusiastic Pokémon battle during their travel time. Now was a really poor time for her body to get itself all worked up over what was probably nothing.

Suddenly aware of the fact she had licked her lips, she brought her hand up to cover her mouth and mumbled something against the palm, her eyes squeezed shut. Snap out of it, Xiao Long!! ]

[The floors are really great, too, and that's what Weiss focuses on. She doesn't quite register it when she gives Yang's hand a squeeze, not until her friend takes that hand away.]

I mean, it would be a little awkward if we couldn't hold a conversation without - yeah. That.

[After that, she instinctively folds her arms over herself. She's not sure if that's supposed to be defensive or comforting to her. A bit of both, maybe.

It's a long moment before she tears her eyes from the pattern of the carpet and looks up, and even then, she focuses on a point to Yang's right.]

- are you okay? Or is that a profoundly stupid question?

[ It's their turn to exchange the briefest of glances as Yang turns her interest toward the handle on the door behind Weiss, to her side. Definitely a good idea they didn't have this discussion in the hall.

After both of Weiss's statements, Yang lets out two tiny tufts of dry laughter. ] Haah.

...hah, uhhm. [ There should probably be an apology in there somewhere, again, but honestly? She doesn't feel too sorry. She had that impulse, and acted on it, and for whatever reason Weiss had done the same. And. Technically, Weiss had started it. So, there???

Assigning blame for that just seemed to be a silly notion entirely. It made her feel momentarily like she was a kid. "She touched me first!" "She's on my side of the room again!"

The thought brings with it a chuckle. Yang drops her hand, to reveal a lopsided smile. ] I'm sorry for, uh. Morning mouth.

[That's one of the last things Weiss was expecting to hear, and it's enough to make her laugh. She fully intended to apologize and leave, but instead, she manages an embarrassed smile.

Nobody had seen anything, and if this is the worst thing that happens all week, she's all right with it.]

N-no, you didn't. Not really.

[ Yes, this certainly was awkward, but all told things could have been much more so. ]

Heh. All right. Good. [ Good? Yang cleared her throat and settled that hand of hers on her hip. ] I mean, I've got an image to maintain, so it's good that it ... went smoothly. [ God, what was she saying? Things were fine before she went and opened her mouth a second time. She could have just. Let it go. ]

[Weiss gives Yang a look that's a combination of a raised eyebrow and minor confusion.]

If we're talking about maintaining images, then I suppose mine must have just gone out the window. 'Ice Queen', indeed.

[There's no small amount of sarcasm in her voice.]

[ The implication that Yang was talking about her own skills in kissing may have gone over Weiss's head, judging from that look. Or she got it and blatantly set it aside. ]

Anyone who calls you that obviously doesn't know you. Not half as well as I do, that's for sure. [ Let's please forget, for the moment, that Yang used the exact same moniker for her, to her face, not that long ago. Because it seems Yang herself has certainly failed to recall that detail. ]

[Oh, she got it, but it's been set aside.]

...you do realize you're one of the people who's called me that, right?

[Yang may not remember it, but Weiss certainly does.]

It's been a while, but still.

Oh. [ Said in that tone of "me?" before recognition kicks in. Then guilt. ]

Right. I didn't mean I thought you fit the bill or anything. It was just an, uh, example? [ Smile smile maybe it'll sound more convincing that way. Buying into other people's gossip was a bit of a problem with her but Weiss did shut Jaune down pretty hard that day. Week. Whatever. ]

[Is it a day that ends in Y? Then there is a fairly high likelihood of Weiss shutting Jaune down hard.]

Sure. Right.

[She's just going to turn towards the door.]

[ Yang had been doing so well, despite everything else, right up until she decided to see what her own foot would taste like. Though she fires off her opinions quickly there is still more forethought put into them than she was exhibiting currently. She can't fully blame it on the earlier weirdness, but it wasn't helping neither.

And while Yang could have put this more eloquently, all that she can blurt out to reinforce her initial statement is: ] If someone said that about you now, I'd deck 'em.

[ She pounded her fist into a palm once, smirking. ] That goes double for me. [ What a strange admission of guilt. It's barely an apology. Though if her opinion of Weiss had not evolved for the better, that dating profile would have turned out a whole lot worse. ]

I guess throwing myself at a volcano in the arena was enough to melt that persona?

[She's at least trying.]

You don't need to go that far. I really don't want to have to explain to everyone else that you gave yourself a black eye defending me from yourself.

[Weiss is well aware of that fact.]

Okay?

[ That comment about the volcano got a chuckle and a smile out of her. The act had meant a lot to her, of course, and not just because it had propelled her into the finals for the singles matches at the cost of Weiss's own participation... ] Heh. If you had tried any harder, it would have done a lot more than just thaw you out a bit.

[ Yang nodded. ] Okay, okay. I'll lay off the public embarrassment.

Don't I know it. I'm lucky I didn't do more damage to my voice than I did, much less anything else.

[She still doesn't feel like her voice is back at 100%, but that's neither here nor there. It's not something she's going to bring up, at any rate.]

Good.

...things aren't going to be weird going forward, right?

It doesn't have to be. [ She rubbed the back of her head a moment, then shrugged. ] I mean, for starters, this place is weird enough as it is. We don't... have to add to that.

[ Yang closed one eye; she wasn't winking, she was actually rubbing at it since it was still early and she felt some gunk in the corner of it. ] Not like I'm going to go blab about this to anyone. [ No, not even Ruby. People don't have to know what went on in here this morning. Especially since the explanation for it is still out of her grasp. ]

No, we don't. Definitely not.

[That's met with a smile, even if it is a little sheepish.]

Then that's a deal, right? Neither of us go making a big deal out of it or discussing it with anyone else.

[ Yang nodded once, sharply. ] Deal.

I'll see you — and everyone else — at breakfast later? I'm gonna go ahead and take my shower. [ The timing of which was not implicit of anything; she just always did it while everyone else prepared for their day, since she took quite a long time in there. ]

All right. I'll see you later, then.

[She waves, then heads on out.]
